What is Olitay Golitay?

Olitay Golitay is a Writers Blog that serves as a platform for writers to express their different voices like many spices being put together in the same bowl. Not only their voices, but the idea is that topics and subjects by these writers — who are both young and aged — are also varied in nature, representing a spectrum of various aspects of their lives. Topics the writers might write on this Blog include: Environment and Climate Change, Living and Lifestyle, and Travel and Leisure. Approaches to the topics can be humorous or serious, historical or current, research or analytical, social or political, financial or economic, and they can be extensive or short in length.
Besides, writers would write articles on various serious, interesting, on-going and developing issues, topics and themes. In the field of Research & Analysis, long and short research and analytical articles and papers written on various current, on-going and developing social, political, and economic issues/subjects would be published.
“The City” section would contain News reports or bites; stories; articles; picture stories, collages, or other forms of visual presentations; or updates and follow-ups regarding what happens in the city. The Poem section of the website, read in both Bengali and English, is a place for poem lovers to find long and short poems written by renowned, less-known, and beginners.

This writers blog has been established with the mission to:
  • Function as a platform where experienced and inexperienced writers can unite with different views, values and opinions. The hope is that there can be a healthy exchange of their variable values, views and opinion.
  • Identify a group of excellent young writers, perhaps beginners, and provide them with opportunities to shine. The aim is to encourage them to engage in journalistic and literary endeavors that aim to unfold meaning and purpose in the lives of ordinary people.
  • Make people familiar with the living and lifestyle of ordinary folks – the way they live, the things they do, the food they eat, so on and so forth, and create social awareness concerning the impact of environmental pollution and climate change on public health and living.
  • Make significant contribution towards a (qualitatively) better life and living for everyone in the society.
  • Make the readers familiar with all aspects, or at least most aspects, of life of ordinary people.

Vision

It is hoped that this website will make contributions toward painting a complete and comprehensive picture of our society through a group of talented and motivated writers — writers who are diligent, rigorous, and uncompromising in their search for truth, clarity, and authenticity. These writers’ individual submissions, when put together towards the growth of this platform will eventually make it an institution of positive change through knowledge, wisdom, and clarity.
Differences of opinion, values, and culture will come together on this platform to form unity in diversity and diversity in unity. The writers will strive through their writings in various categories to make the reader knowledgeable regarding the true state of the society they live in. Socially significant facts, events, and occurrences with possible and probable social impacts that concern readers, in one way or the other, are presented as they are, without any distortion.
So, it’s intended that this Writers Blog “Olitay Golitay” be establish as a well-known and well-received brand that represents a platform of writers who present the true, accurate, and complete picture of the society the readers live in at any given moment.
The Blog upholds the Principles of Unity in Diversity and Diversity in Unity. These principles relate to the theme “Olitay Golitay” in the manner that, as a writer goes through the alley in search of truth, clarity, and purpose in peoples’ lives, he or she would, possibly and probably, end up meeting with people of different culture, ethnicity, race, color, religion, social customs and practices, different views, and different values and opinions on various issues and/or subjects. All this diversity will unite on one platform called: Olitay Golitay.
